Get started with Bookiebot by following these quick and easy steps!

The Telegram Bot is where all new Bookiebot users get started.

Telegram is a popular chat app which allows the use of powerful bots, such as Bookiebot, directly within it. If you are not currently a Telegram user, you can download it from your mobile device's app store, and you can download the desktop version from the Telegram website. Once you have downloaded Telegram and created your Telegram account, proceed with the quick and easy Bookiebot setup by following the simple instructions below.

1. Access the Telegram Bot by clicking this link

2. Click the Start button, or enter /start in the bot if the chat window is already open

3. Click the Create Wallet button

4. Next, create a password for your bot account's wallet. This password will be required to withdraw funds from the bot

5. After entering your password, the bot will provide you with your wallet's details Click on the obfuscated text in the bot to reveal your Private Key, Mnemonic Phrase, and Account Password

6. Make sure to store your Private Key, Mnemonic Phrase, and Account Password securely. Please see the section at the bottom of this guide for important information regarding keeping your wallet secure

7. Next, click the Acknowledge button and you will be taken to the Main Menu

Now you are ready to fund your wallet. There are four routes you can go take to get money onboard:

• Option 1: Use the fiat onramp in the bot itself to easily deposit directly from a card

  • Click 'Options' on the Main Menu

  • Select 'Deposit From Card'

  • Use the Buy USDT and Buy MATIC buttons to purchase crypto with your card and have the crypto automatically deposited to your bot wallet via our fiat onramp partner, Kado

• Option 2: Use the bridge to send funds from ETH Mainnet to Optimism

  • Click the Bridge button on the Main Menu to get started

  • See the Bridging Guide for details

• Option 3: If you already have ETH on Optimism, you just need to send ETH to your newly created bot wallet. You can find your Wallet Address on the Main Menu

  • You can place bets with ETH, USDT, USDC, or sUSD on Optimism. ETH (on Optimism) is required for gas regardless of which currency you use for betting

• Option 4: If you already have funds on Polygon, you just need to send MATIC and USDT to your newly created bot wallet. You can find your Wallet Address on the Main Menu

  • On Polygon, you can place bets with USDT, and MATIC is required for gas

That's it! Now you can bet to your heart's desire on the Bookiebot Telegram bot.

Why do I need to send MATIC on Polygon or ETH on Optimism to my wallet for gas?

All bets with Bookiebot are placed on-chain. Like any other transaction on most blockchains, a gas fee is required. This fee is not collected by Bookiebot; it is essentially a fee paid to blockchain's validators, and it is enforced by the network itself.

How much MATIC or ETH do I need for gas?

Gas prices can fluctuate depending on the level of network activity on Polygon or Optimism at the time. For betting on Polygon, it is recommended to keep a balance of at least 1 MATIC in your wallet. This is typically enough for several bets. However, the transaction may fail when attempting to place a bet if your MATIC balance is too low.

On Optimism, it is recommended to keep a balance of at least 0.02 ETH in your wallet. This is typically enough for several bets. However, the transaction may fail when attempting to place a bet if your ETH balance is too low.

*IMPORTANT* Information about keeping your wallet secure

The betting wallet that the bot creates for you is a self-custodial wallet. This means that Bookiebot does not have custody of your funds. Given this, and the finality of cryptocurrency transactions in general, Bookiebot has no ability to access your funds, cancel transactions, reverse transactions, or refund transactions.

It is *extremely* important that you securely store your Private Key, Mnemonic Phrase, and Account Password. These should all be treated as sensitive, highly private information.

• It is important to retain these details if you wish to access your wallet from outside your telegram account in the future (ie import into MetaMask)

• If you lose access to your Telegram account, you will not be able to access your wallet without these details

• It is highly recommend that you do not take a screenshot of these sensitive wallet details, nor otherwise store them online. These details should be security stored offline

• You must never share your Private Key, Mnemonic Phrase, or Password with anyone, nor enter them into any website or app (aside from a trusted wallet if you wish to import your bot wallet)

• Nobody from the Bookiebot team will ever ask you for your Private Key, Mnemonic Phrase, or Password. If someone asks you for these details, you should assume that they have malicious intent

• Your password is required to send crypto from your bot wallet using the Withdraw feature. However, due to the nature of cryptocurrency, anyone who has possession of your Private Key or Mnemonic Phrase has complete control of the funds in the wallet, without requiring your password.

• To put it simply, if you share your Private Key or Mnemonic phrase with anyone, they can steal your funds
